Dual Credit Option
A student may begin taking dual credit courses at any grade-level without being a member of the Collegiate Academy
if the student meets the academic and disciplinary requirements for Dual Credit.
Dual credit is a college-based curriculum offered at James M. Steele Accelerated High School provided by North Central Texas College. Dual Credit allows qualifying students the opportunity to begin earning college credit at a fraction of the cost while simultaneously earning high school credit.
- College level courses that also meet high school requirements
- With a passing grade of “C” or higher, the student can receive college credit and meet high school course requirements at the same time
- Courses can be taken at any NCTC campus, online, or on the high school campus
- Core or "Basic" college transferable classes
to ANY public Texas University
- NCTC has been participating in dual credit with area high school's since the early 1990's

How much does it cost?
The cost of dual credit is approximately $350.00 per course. Prices are subject to change and can be found on the NCTC website.
Requirements to Participate
- 9th-10th Graders -- 3.0 GPA or higher
- 11th-12th Graders -- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Students approved to enroll in more than 2 dual credit classes -- 3.5 GPA or higher
- TSI Assessment Completion or meeting TSI exemptions
