**NOTE Changes due Coronovirus Protocol**

    • For 2019-2020, The required hours to achieve Green Cord has been adjusted to 88 hours total.
    • Students can volunteer/community service for safe at home projects with documentation. Documentation can be picture proof sent to Ms. M. Davis and entering it into the link above. (email must have "Green Cord-Your name" , the email must include a picture of what you are doing and a short description of what you are doing, who it is for and date and time.)
    • Examples may be writing letters to nursing homes, creating face masks, etc... more opportunities will be posted as we receive them. They will be sent out on Green Cord REMIND.
    • Deadline for submitting of hours to link above to count this year is April 15, 2020 5:00 P.M.. (Note: Next year's hours start after April 15, 2020)

The “Green Cord” Community Service Award Program is an initiative designed to help high school students gain a sense of community service, pride, and ownership. The program is a way to encourage 9-12 grade students to contribute at least 100 hours of approved community service per school year. Those students meeting these requirements will be recognized as Green Cord award recipients in each high school year they complete 100 or more hours.

  • Students can be recognized all four years. 
  • Students meeting and/or exceeding requirements for community service (100 hours/year) will be awarded a Green Cord certificate or patch for each year of participation.
  • During the senior year, graduates will have the option to purchase a “Green Cord” for each year of achievement (100 hours/year) to wear during the high school graduation ceremony.
  • Dates of Service -  Tuesday, April 15, 2019 - Wednesday, April 15, 2020
  • Community service hours must have a signature of a person (non-family member) supervising  the event/service. 

 To be counted toward the annual “Green Cord” award, hours must be turned in by April 15 of each academic year. Hours can be earned and submitted between Tuesday, April 15, 2019 - Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
